Volunteer Positions – Yearly

Fundraising Sub-Committee

The sub-committee will send out letters to all previous and non-previous business donors, participate in photo-ops, send out thank you’s and do follow ups with the businesses as needed.  They will coordinate the business signs needed on parade day, order more as needed, ensure the ones we have are in decent condition and put the signs on the poles before parade day.

Events Sub-Committee

The events committee will oversee all WIDC events, except for the Carnival.  These events will include the Festival by the Lake, the two Farmer’s Markets and the Italian Festival (if the WIDC chooses to participate).  The committee will gather the necessary items from the storage unit, be the volunteers for the day, collect the cash box from the treasurer, set up and break down for each event and ensure all items are returned to the storage unit.  The chair shall be present at all events unless they designate a stand in person for the day who must be present from start to finish.

Carnival Sub-Committee

The carnival chairperson will oversee the WIDC Carnival in April.  They will coordinate with the sub-committee on setting up volunteers for each day, working with carnival company and the Town for set up, distributing lawn signs for publicity, and asking the town and school committee for permission to have the carnival.

If necessary, they will also coordinate with Chelmsford on judging (years that we are asked to do so).

Bands Sub-Committee

Fillers Sub-Committee

The fillers chairperson will oversee the booking of all non-musical groups to be in the parade.  There may or may not be a sub-committee.  If so, the chair will coordinate with the committee on booking and figuring out the line-up on parade day.
